Diabetes Types I and II
patients are candidates for stem cell transplants. This would include
patients that are on insulin daily injections; those that may be on
a insulin pump; those that are on simply diet, exercise and oral hypoglycemic
medication.

the patient’s past medical history; all laboratory tests including
past month’s glucose monitoring, HgA1C, fasting insulin level;
cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides; doses of insulin taken over the
past two months. Details regarding blood pressure, heart disease, peripheral
vascular disease, kidney problems, pulmonary, liver, eye status of retina,
cornea, macula ;neuropathies should be included in the medical records
sent to the company.
It is also desirable to
determine if the patient has autoimmune diabetes by diagnostic evaluation
of the immune system. If there are questions regarding this please contact
the company’s physicians so that we can recommend laboratory tests
to be done in advance of our treatment.
The protocol for treatment
will include intravenous pancreatic stem cells extracted from umbilical
cord blood that secrete insulin and agents that stimulate beta islet
cell differentiation. Patients will be followed monthly after treatment
at our clinic office in the U.S.A. and/or by telemedicine webcam conferences.
Follow-up laboratory tests
will include glucose monitoring, HgA1C, fasting insulin, C Peptide studies.
Oral natural agents will be added post stem cell procedure to assist
in glycemic control.
